The Tori Bullock Story

"They rushed inside and quickly went to work, and I collapsed on the front porch. I grabbed my cell phone out of my pocket. 'How am I going to tell Dad? He's 2000 miles away.' In too short of an eternity, they told me she was gone, they did all they could. I watched as they wheeled her to the ambulance in a body-bag. The same crew that put me in that same ambulance less than two months ago."
To say I've had it rough would be a drastic understatement. My mom decided to exit stage-left two months after I lost my leg, while my dad was on the road, and I kinda needed her. I bought a bus, made a home out of it, and live the #buslife with my dog. When I meet-up with my dad for my twenty-first birthday, things take an unexpected detour. What follows is a roller coaster ride that no one was prepared for.

Tales Made Along the Way
“Breathe, ground yourself.” I heard Moms hushed voice in my head as I began meditating. “Breathe in, count to four. Breathe out, count to four. Hold. Repeat..” I suddenly felt as though I was floating. I opened my eyes and glanced toward the window to see a hazy, green light from behind the curtain. I gulped my fear down and made my way for the door. I slowly turned the handle and peeked into the eerie hospital hallway. There were hushed voices surrounding the room, I quietly closed the door and inched closer. I saw the girl on the hospital bed again. She was sobbing, not as joyous as you’d expect after having a baby. Across the room, I could see another, older woman rocking the newborn wrapped up in a pink blanket in her arms, singing German lullabies.
I'm Jerry, the only teenage daughter of two cycle breaking hippies. I live on the road in a camper with my Mom, a traveling spiritual lifecoach, and my dad, a retired firefighter and Mom's chauffeur. The year I turn sixteen will prove to be the most horrifying and enlightening year of my life. In these pages is the story that is building me, and I hope, on your journey you find the pieces you need to build yourself as well.
